Founded in spring 2021, the Sargans post-punk band Familiar Affections can look back on 19 concerts in St. Gallen, Lucerne and their home areas of Sargans and Buchs.
Acting as a duo but also as an emo-rap inspired solo act, Familiar Affections remain flexible and take the listener on a journey shaped by dreamy, Silent Hill-inspired chords and lyrics that range from personal self-reflections to mystical pop culture homages.
After their 2nd EP, "Exhausted Music To Fuck Stuff Up To" made it into the New Entries on Kanal K in November 2022, the release of their debut album, US SO FAR COMPILATION, is imminent in January 2023.
US SO FAR COMPILATION is a compilation of the songs from “Exhausted Music To Fuck Stuff Up To”, completely re-recorded, rearranged versions of the previously released singles, Flinch, Never Meant and Emergency Simp and 2 previously unreleased songs.
The album ranges thematically from millennial angst and doomed relationship songs to songs about trust issues, depression and self-harm.
For Familiar Affections, the album marks the end of their first phase.
