It was just a matter of time before the voices of Kerkhof and Schulz finally came together. The two are old acquaintances who know each other from concerts they played together in their respective bands and keep running into each other in other projects.
In 2022, Kerkhof left his indie postpunk band, Lyvten, and Schulz took a break from his rock band, Gran Noir. However, doing nothing didn't suit the two musicians. The influence of music in their daily lives is too strong.
So, they met, exchanged ideas, and formulated a new project. Their different vocal styles blended together to create something unique and special.
The result is outrageously catchy songs, carried by guitars and synthesizers with a gloomy-poppy note that inevitably get stuck in the listener's ear canals.
The duo named their project FARUR, after an alp in the Swiss Bündner mountains. The music is like the alp - icy in winter, blooming in spring, warming in summer, and darkly colorful in autumn. But above all, it is always lovely, embracing, and welcoming. All colors appear in the music.
FARUR's music is for the driven. It may be a bit gloomy, sometimes sad, but it is never completely without hope. It is a confidence that can be heard in every note, gives courage and allows no standstill.
