Biography

Under the initiative of former Bern City Councilor Martin "Tinu" Schneider, ten politicians of all political stripes have come together with FraktionsZwang to make music and perform on stage together. Even if the ten band members don't give each other anything politically, in the rehearsal room they always put making music together above their political orientation.

Since March 2009 they have been composing, rehearsing and rocking together. And they don't just play well-known covers - in the meantime they have no less than 25 songs of their own in their repertoire. In the song lyrics no political statements are propagated - nevertheless they deal with the positive and negative sides as every politician knows them. Not infrequently, a healthy portion of self-irony and a little cynicism can be felt.

FraktionsZwang is an extraordinary political, musical but also social experiment, which is probably looking for its equal worldwide in vain.
