GiGi Polar picks up where artists from the "SoundCloud era" left off – and goes even further. Expressing his feelings in the realms of alternative rap and indie rock, his sound fits in with artists like Yung Lean, Lil Tracy, Corbin, ThxSoMch and EKKSTACY.
Being a biracial cosmopolitan his vulnerable lyricism deals with introspective themes such as relationship issues, self-discovery and his determination to music. This includes feeling out of place and indifferent at times. Through his atmospheric self- productions, innovative flows and catchy melodic vocal style, the versatile artist creates a unique sound.
The young artist has gained success in the Swiss hip-hop scene, landing major placements on radios, magazines and playing Swiss festivals like the BScene and the JKF. Radios include Switzerland’s biggest hip-hop radio station SRF Virus, Energy and Radio Basilisk. Blog placements include Fashionably Early, LYRICS, and after a collaboration with Quality Control-managed artist Mark Battles, the UK magazine Wordplay. Playlists include Spotify’s Fresh Finds Indonesia and Fashionably Early’s playlist.
After his relocation to London, UK in 2022, he has refined his sound establishing himself as a rising star in the alternative scene. In anticipation of his first headline show, he has most notably played at the O2 Islington Academy, the DNÜ Fest at Colours Hoxton and Strongroom supporting German artist Dews Pegahorn on his UK tour.
