Her first album GOLD was released this spring. The voice is no longer alone; synthesizers, piano and electronic percussion broaden the sound palette, seeking inspiration in the albums of James Blake, Sevdaliza, Les Mystères des Voix Bulgares or M.I.A. On stage, she surrounded herself with Matteo Simonin on synthesizer/vocals and Nicolas Safjan on drums/vocals.
With GOLD, Giulia Dabalà tackles different cultures and musical styles that liven her up; organic rhythms are mixed with soulful melodies to form an entire, with a pop aesthetic. She sings us the stories inspired by her experience and her reflections as a young woman in an uncertain world, in search of roots.
