The band «Gold Generation » owed its birth in 2008 to a friendship story between Shyle and Kadjali.
For 20 years, Shyle has been performing in the world of Rap. Italian by birth, Shyle’s passion for music dated back to his childhood and as an evidence, he started his musical career with the band “Esprit de Famille”, a Swiss Rap band among the first ones seen in Switzerland. After a 10 year’s break but always keeping close ties with the musical spheres, he met Kadjali and their friendship has revived his early passion for music and has decided them to collaborate.
Kali, born in Switzerland, comes from a multicultural background (France, the Ivory Coast, Spain). This naturally has had a strong influence on his eclectic tastes for music. Belonging to a family of musicians, he has developed his unbounded passion for music since his childhood. He has been studying and playing piano since he was 7. He can play amazingly well Classical as well as Jazz or Rap, with some special touches of African rythms, Funk and Salsa of his own.
In 2008, Shyle attended the Montreux Festival of Sundance. He was triggered by the electronic music, the ambiance and the people during the festival. Back home, he immediately ordered a House composition from Kadjali. At that time, Kadjali’s music was totally Hip-Hop’s one. But being open-minded, he decided to take up Shyle’s challenge. Kadjali’s composition fascinated Shyle at once who rapidly suggested Kadjali to collaborate on a permanent basis. This was how the band “Gold Generation” was born.
Very rapidly, “Gold Generation” welcomed a female voice named Shani, who is Shyle’s sister and whose musical career has followed the same path as Shyle. Shani the R&B singer was already well-known among the Swiss artists.
Another artist named Fame Luck joined “Gold Generation” a year later. He has enriched the band with his arrangements and he has successfully imported the touch “club” into Gold Generation’s songs and afterwards he brought his owns compositions.
The artist Fame Luck was former DJ Kayp. His musical career has come a long way to House since R&B and Hip-Hop. His reputation as a DJ is well-established at some famous clubs in Marocco, his native country, and international places.
In Spring 2009, “Gold Generation” submitted its composition entitled “We Love Kazantip” featuring Davide Styloso (the song writer) at the hymn competition of the Kazantip Festival, the longest and the most important festival of electronic music in the world. It was a beautiful success story, for our composition became the official 2009 hymn of the Festival. Encouraged by this success and to keep going, the first coming out of our single as well as our clip will be certainly available before the end of this summer 2009.
