I'm the son of Italians: I was born in Milan, but I've always lived in Italian-speaking Switzerland, specifically in Bellinzona. On the one hand, I deeply love the place I live, without a doubt; on the other, however, I find it boring and, above all, stifling when it comes to youth activities and the artistic world. For this reason, I often dream of leaving.
Art has always fascinated me, in many of its forms. I dream of studying art history, a passion I've long held. I've also always loved making art: I've drawn for most of my life. Then, around fourteen, I discovered writing music, and I haven't stopped since.
Rap entered my life when I was about twelve, just before I started writing and singing. Although it's a relatively recent passion, today it's undoubtedly my greatest, almost an obsession.
In my music, I try to express myself without filters, sharing what I experience and what I see. While many in this profession wear a mask, my goal is exactly the opposite: to remove it, to reach straight to the listener's heart. This, however, without sacrificing bangers, created solely to break the beat.
There's a particular anecdote linked to my stage name, Golia. My name is Davide Elia, but everyone has always called me Elia. It wasn't until I was around seven years old that I discovered my name was also Davide. When I told my grandmother, she commented, "I thought they should have called you Davide Goliath." I asked her why, and she told me the biblical story. That story struck a deep chord with me, and I've never forgotten it since. When it came time to choose a stage name, the choice was natural.
