Biography

Grand Atlas Mondial’s first self entitled album is pretty hard to describe with traditional gender designations. One could go for electronic music that borrows some of its codes to rock music. The sounds are mainly created from synthesizers and samplers.The members of the band like repetition and heady rythms. But in contrast, Vincent Borcard’s voic, some melodic lines and some tonal modulations come to hasten this repetition and transport the music into a whole new level. This makes the songs built on a simple structure, constantly changing intensity. Grand Atlas Mondial attaches great importance to create living arrangements. The sound of Grand Atlas Mondial is dark. The band uses differents sound generators and effect to create some non-traditional ambiance. Through this method, there are pop songs having a direction such as “Forms / Shapes” and other more radical such as “Digital”.
Since its creation in 2011, Grand Atlas Mondial has given many concerts including two remarqued gigs in the famous Bad Bonn Kilbi Festival; this in 2011 and 2013. Other worth mentioning appearances of the band are: Fri-Son (Fribourg), Festival de la Batie (Geneva), Le Bourg (Lausanne), Helsinki Club (Zurich) and Madame Claude (Berlin).
Grand Atlas Mondial has released a first double single on vinly under the label 1/3 2/3 in 2011. This record was entitled « You Are Here ». At the end of 2011, the band also released a second double single entitled « Spark Made on the Surface of a Body ».
