Biography
“115 ... 123 BPM, that’s the kind of tempo I like. Call it Techno, Acid House, Deep House... to me it’s emotions. Music? The ideal fuel for the engine of our sensations. It depends on your mood and your heart and when both are united, the result provides a beautifully simple and essential well-being.”
Greg Shepherd has been around the block, in Europe of course and naturally in his Swiss homeland, but the 33 year old artist has also roamed through South America and, more recently, in the Balkans.
“I’ve had the privilege of seeing beautiful places, filled with incredible people who cultivate a sharp sense of what it is to party. This nocturnal mingling is necessary for us, in order to live out our conception of intensity in life!”
He has been in contact with a wide a diversified crowd during the course of his career and has been the instigator of many amazing projects: As a promoter for Fri-Son for many years, first true manager and artistic director of the underground club “Mouton Noir”, co-founder of the Flashcut and Neurocide labels, owner of the eponymous shop “Neurocide Records” specialized in vinyl, street art and sound equipment; and initiator of the “Kidz Love Saturdays” and “Upgrade” events at Fri-Son...
Having been in the DJ and promoting scene since 2005, it was now time for him to keep some of those emotions to himself in order to create new ones in his music. Forever drawn to machines and repetitive frequencies, he has stayed his course as well as his curiosity. After a first digital release on “Flashcut”, we are overjoyed to discover his second 4 track EP released on vinyl by “Finefood Records”.
“In my world you will find a solid rhythmic base, layers of acid & colourful synth tones, as well as a subtly throbbing groove with an organic vibe. I consider myself to be less of a musician or composer and more like an architect of emotions, an artisan of sound. I love it and I will always want more of it!”
