A human and musical patchwork, Harichu is the new artistic expression of Ismaël Montandon, formerly of Hybisae. This queer artist from Neuchâtel conceives his universe through a unique style, described as "pop-rock disco-drama." A big fan of contemporary pop music, the colorful musician also draws inspiration from more alternative artists, sometimes rock, sometimes disco, hip-hop, or jazz.
Harichu brings together pain and exhilaration in a sort of incomplete puzzle, symbolizing both his music and himself. He launched his solo career following the abrupt breakup of his former band in 2024 but remains supported in this reinvention by his team and label, Blizzard Audio Club.
A flamboyant yet imperfect human, Harichu overflows with life, joy, and sorrow. He incorporates madness and eccentricity into his songs, thus making visible a different way of being, an alternative often described as bizarre and unsettling. With an undefined gender identity, Harichu is committed to making queer people – of which he is proudly a part – ever more visible in all their grandeur and normality.
