Helena Hallberg is a Swedish multi-instrumentalist and singer based in New York City.
Born to Swedish parents in Zurich, Switzerland, Helena spent her childhood in California, where her passion for music was evident from a young age. Completing her classical voice training in Zurich at Kantonsschule Stadelhofen, Helena then became active in Jazz and Musical Theatre. She studied Jazz at the Zurich University of the Arts (ZHdK) where she was taught by her mentor and long-time family friend, Marianne Racine.
In 2015, she attended the Stella Adler Studio of Acting in New York City to start her career in Musical Theatre. Helena then was accepted to the Manhattan School of Music on a scholarship, where she currently studies with Broadway’s elites.
Musically she’s been described as a “chameleon”. Being active in multiple genres shows her wide vocal range and a broad understanding of musical conceptsHelena started playing the piano at an early age and then proceeded to teach herself other instruments like ukulele, guitar and bass. She’s also found the many languages she speaks to be a great tool for analyzing and creating music that can transcend all kinds of borders.
Her debut EP “Blind” was released in December 2016 and is comprised of her own compositions. Every song was initially composed on a different instrument and all of them were created during 2016 with the exception of the song “Blind”, which Helena wrote when she was 14.
