Heliantus, born in 1971 as Chris Fasler in Aarau (Switzerland), began playing the piano at the age of six. He was soon creating his own melodies. Until today he has composed more than 100 works.
A few years ago, he began to transform his songs into works from the electro/ambient genre. The similarity to the music of his great idol Jean-Michel Jarre is audible in many of his works. And yet Chris Fasler has developed his own unmistakable style. His music can be placed somewhere between the genres of electro, ambient, new age, dream pop and synthpop.
The music of Heliantus has already been played on the radio. Especially as a background to videos on various video portals, the music of Heliantus enjoys great popularity.
Helianthus, correctly spelled with -h, is the scientific name of the sunflower. Since this name was already occupied by a music group, Chris Fasler decided to simply leave out the h. The name Heliantus played an important role in Chris Fasler's life. However, he does not want to reveal exactly what it is all about.
