On Seeking, Finding, and the Sound in Between
Music is like a ray of sunlight – it cannot be held or possessed; it can only be received and passed on.
For Swiss musician iandara, music is not a destination, but a way to understand the world. Her identity and sound are fueled by a deep, cosmopolitan diversity: within her, the rhythmic longing of South America and the poetic elegance of the chanson flow seamlessly together. It is the heritage of two worlds that she carries in her voice. Her musical journey began with the rhythm of drums in Olten, led her as a street musician across the cobblestones of major metropolises, and included a stopover in the first season of The Voice of Switzerland, where she captured hearts with her rendition of "La vie en rose."
Yet, away from the bright spotlights, in the quiet pauses of life, iandara has remained a traveler between worlds. In her music lives both the wondering child and an old, wise soul looking for solid ground within the songs. Her voice creates spaces where, for a brief moment, people can breathe together. If her music helps someone feel comforted or understood for just a blink of an eye, that is her greatest reward.
The Magic of Words: Current Work
iandara’s music thrives on contrasts—raw, profound, and disarmingly honest. Her lyrics capture the universal struggles of the human soul:
"Gurl" (Single Release: 28.05.2026, Galicia Bar Olten): A song like a melancholic journey into the depths. With lines like “But Girl, don’t you know / You have everything but your soul / Is a big black hole... Searching for the truth,” iandara dissects the search for truth in a world full of white lies. It is a calm, hypnotic Bossa Nova track in which the warming comfort of her South Atlantic roots merges with the atmospheric depth and unfiltered honesty of a traveler between worlds.
"Sonnestrahle" (Current Swiss-German Single): iandara shows a completely different, vulnerable, and deeply comforting side in her new Swiss-German ballad. This project bears her unique signature: the lyrics, melody, and the entire concept came completely from her. She also painted the CD cover herself, designed the sleeve, and managed the printing independently. For the musical foundation in the studio, she brought in professional support: the expressive guitar was played by Nicolás Morán, while David Hofmann was responsible for recording, mixing, and mastering. A song like a promise:
“Und wenn nur d Wolke gsehsch / Nimme se und form se zure Sonne / Sonnestrahle, Sonnestrahle nur för de.”
(And if you only see the clouds / I’ll take them and shape them into a sun / Rays of sunlight, rays of sunlight just for you.)
Because music is a gift that grows when shared, this song flows to where light is needed most: 100% of the proceeds from CD orders go directly to Pippilotta Kinder- und Jugendtrauerbegleitung (grief counseling for children and youth), to support young people during difficult times.
iandara remains tangible yet mysterious. Her songs are a refuge, a prayer, and a daily breath all at once. A voice that enriches Swiss radio with depth, heart, and touching honesty.
