Between nostalgia and sonic exploration, In Fallow bridges math rock, post rock, and folk, driven by a quest for serenity and a deep connection with nature. Born out of solo experimentation, the project has grown into an inspired and ambitious quartet, where every note tells a story and every melody invites you on a journey.
Driven by organic energy and subtle sonic exploration, the Franco-Swiss band is making its mark along the Lake Geneva region and beyond. After a debut EP in 2019 and several memorable concerts, In Fallow is set to unveil its first album, Fragments, the result of five years of intense work. Throughout Fragments, the quartet evokes wide open spaces and blends its math and post-rock inspirations (from American Football to Totorro, via Pinegrove and early Biffy Clyro) with softer, folkier moments and multiple atmospheres. In the eponymous title track, recorded with musician and composer Lucille Mille, folk vocals and colors invite themselves in and caress the ear.
Then hints of the band's first EP resurface; finely intertwined guitars and rock tradition punctuate the entire album, as in the tracks “Sparkling Lights,” “In Fallow,” and “La Voie le temps” (the focus track accompanying the album's release), sung in French. The journey is complete: rich in arrangements and guitars, it takes us on a trip and invites us to reconnect with the environment around us.
