Isaac Evans is a professional solo artist musician known for his distinctive rock/pop/folk guitar style on acoustic and electric guitars. He is a gifted songwriter who bases his songs on his observations of life, his own experiences and his future aspirations. Isaac released his debut album ‘Into the Depths’ in August 2012. This album is available on CD and through iTunes, CD Baby, Amazon and all other major online distributors.
After playing as guitarist with various bands in both the UK and Switzerland, Isaac has emerged as a solo artist. 'I enjoy being a solo artist; the sound is rawer and more to the point – it feels more honest’. Isaac sings with great emotion, commonly changing from soft to powerful vocals throughout his songs. He places great importance on his choice of lyrics 'People don’t always listen to lyrics, I really want mine to be heard’. His music is strongly influenced by artists such as Radiohead, Damian Rice, Keane and Jeff Buckley. Isaac said of Jeff Buckley 'He left this world far too early, but the legacy he left with the emotion and passion of his songs is amazing'.
Isaac lived in the UK until he was 10 years old before moving to Switzerland in 2004. It was in the small Tagesschule Sesam School in a tiny village in the middle of Switzerland (St. Wolfgang) that Isaac’s passion for music was truly awakened. At this Montessori-style school, Isaac was given huge freedom to explore music and pursue his aspirations. Within three months of starting to play the guitar he played “Enter Sandman” by Metallica to an audience of about two hundred. The school director, who is himself an accomplished musician, said 'Isaac is a very talented musician and his passion for music is contagious. Thanks to him many of the younger students have also discovered their own passion for music. He’s not learning much French, but who cares when he can play a guitar like that!'
To further his musical career Isaac returned to England in 2011. He secured a place at The Academy of Music, Exeter, UK where he is currently finishing off his studies. He has performed at various venues including the Highland Games, Switzerland (http://www.highlandgames.ch) and at the Barnfield Theatre, UK (http://www.barnfieldtheatre.org.uk/). Isaac is planning a tour of Switzerland in 2013 and is also looking for suitable venues in the UK.
Isaac’s greatest dream is just to play music. He wants to share his passion for music with the world - inspiring others, just as they have inspired him.
