Ivan Alexander Hagen (born December 1, 1981) is a Swiss independent instrumental guitarist, producer composer and songwriter.
He was born on December 1, 1981, in Mendrisio, Switzerland, from Italian descend Mother Anna Gabbia, housewife and Mario Hagen, Swiss Policeman.
In January 2023 he released his first single, called “We Need To Scream”, featuring Ana Singh.
Ivan A. Hagen was born in Mendrisio, a little town in the south of Switzerland. He spent his childhood in Chiasso, another little town at the border with Italy. Hagen was familiar with guitar thanks his uncle, which played bass guitar.
Ivan Hagen is married and has four children, born in 2008, 2010, 2013, 2015.
He works as Swiss Border Guard.
At the age of 6, Hagen played his first guitar on loan from the primary school, in order to join on a guitar course organized by the school. But only at age of 16 he learned guitar skills and music theory, from a high school mate.
In 2000 he was a co-founder of the local band “Nobody” without any success.
In the following years he tried to join a several bands, but the leak of serious musician in the local area, moved Hagen in solo projects, beginning write instrumental music.
In 2008 he wrote his first instrumental rock song, called “Happiness” to honour the birth of his first child.
The second song calls “The Wedding Song” in occasion of his marriage in 2008. From these two songs he had the idea to write a concept album.
During the next years, between work and family, he wrote most of the songs that will make up his debut album, called “Life”, which will be released in 2023.
Life is a conceptual instrumental album, retracing some phases of his life. In fact, the title of the tracks are connected to important situation of that moment in which he has written that song.
His song writing is influenced by artist like Brian May and Joe Satriani. A mix which generates new sounds and new music, with a Brian May guitar orchestration style and guitar solos in a Joe Satriani style.
