I WAS A PRIEST
After over a decade of musical experiences in diverse styles (rock/garage/pop/grunge/electro), Julien (guitar), Fred (drums) and José (voice) now form the rock-trio "I Was a Priest".
Fred and Julien met in 2007 playing in “the Dorian Grays”, which played for 4 years all across Switzerland and France (live at Cully Jazz Festival, Bleu Lézard supporting act for the “Hushpuppies”, Sismic Festival, Le Pont Rouge, etc.). In 2010 Julien created the experimental-shoegaze duo ”Chaise Rouge” (live at Le Romandie, Le Bourg, L’Amalgame,… ) and released an album in May 2013. José played as a solo artist (singer-songwriter) in venues in his native Puerto Rico, New York City and Madrid.
Sharing a strong common desire to get together again Julien and Fred started a "two instruments" project in 2012 to increase their creative space. Their musical experimentations evolved into a design of a modern mix; the power of 90s American rock’n’roll and the swing of blues/rock music.
In 2014 José (aka Don Pinguino) came on board as their new vocalist, bringing their music to a more complete artistic experience, with sharp lyrics and creative/captivating stage presence.
After a first record “Rock in Heaven” in 2012, they are now releasing their self-titled EP recorded in February 2014 at Royal Studio (Lausanne) by Chris Matthey.
