Influenced by a hippie mother, a groove-driven father, and the hip-hop and R&B echoing from his siblings’ rooms, Jameal was born into a family immersed in music during the vibrant era of the late ’80s and ’90s. Rooted in nostalgia but shaped for today, his sound feels familiar yet fresh — moving freely between raw, emotional ballads, big sing-along rock anthems, and groovy funk-rock tracks.
Writing and producing his own music, Jameal collaborates with session musicians who also make up his live band, giving each track polished studio detail and powerful, organic energy. Following the release of his rock-oriented debut EP in 2023, he continues to evolve his sound, blending the spirit of classic rock with pop, funk, and R&B influences in his upcoming work.
