Jay Jules was only 6 Years young when his fascination for Hip Hop Culture sprouted. Growing up in divorced multicultural Households he had to learn early on to juggle between two worlds. Inspired by his idols he realised, that he could send messages and process experiences, thats how the first songs were created when he was 16 Years old. Jay Jules later started to produce his own music to create his acoustic fingerprint. Between Boom Bap and Trap, Conscious and Fun, Acoustic and Electronic, Jay Jules doesn't set borders and uses Elements, which are usually separated. He is playing his Concerts with the Live Hip Hop Drummer & Producer REEL BEETZ, which guarantees for an energetic Live-Show. The Debut EP One Shot was released on January 1st 2019. That year 2019 has been filled with positive experiences; Jay Jules was part of the Gustav Academy where he got to play and record with Musicians from all over Switzerland, also he played the Gurtenfestival and a Support Slot for Kamasi Washington in an almost sold out Fri-Son and he won the Swiss Live Talents Creative Award. However, like almost everyone on this planet, Jay Jules was not ready for 2020 and so numerous projects were canceled, including the planned concert series with several Swiss rappers (until further notice). Jay Jules has been working on new Material and in 2021 and 2022 he released two EP’s in the span of four months. U.N.I.T.E.D. and SEEDS are the names of the EP’s and they couldn’t be more different. U.N.I.T.E.D. is a collection of perspectives from 6 Rappers in English and a Bonus Cypher with a total 12 Rappers in 6 Languages. The Lo-Fi Beats, produced by the multi-instrumentalist Gabiga, are smooth, the vibe is light. SEEDS on the other hand has a bigger than life perspective of Jay Jules alone, its loud, its turned up, its Hip Hop. The dark and heavy Trap infused Beats are produced by Strychnine (Smokin Trees). In 2023 Jay Jules released his debut album Trappist-1d with long-time collaborator REEL BEETZ. Together, they “created something we would never create alone”. The songs and the accompanying space gadgets have been crafted over a span of 3 years and are now ready to be enjoyed by lovers of alternative Hip Hop Music.
