Biography
This voice is breaking down time and boundaries. Joya Marleen, who is only 17 years old, surprises with incredible warmth and depth. She grew up in St. Gallen (Switzerland) and started songwriting when she was 12 years old. “I’ve always written songs, long before I knew something about verses, bridges or a chorus.” Currently the singer-songwriter is working with Thomas Fessler on her debut EP.
In the first single “Nightmare” Joya Marleen searches for the mysterious and wraps it up with a shot of drama and a powerful refrain. “It was the emptiness where nothing touches you anymore. In which you are flooded with fake feelings and the endless striving for attention, seeking the real thing. It is a nightmare that makes you feel something and wakes you up again.” The young artist fascinates live with her strong charisma and her way of telling stories. With her energetic and cheeky nature she inspires with her freshness.
The moment when the audience and the music merge, when tomorrow's shopping lists and yesterday's unpaid bills are forgotten. When only the now counts. “I make music for this moment,” says Joya Marleen.
