Born and raised in the outskirts of São Paulo, Brazil, Dom Lampa began his career in 1997 with
the rap group Julgados Culpados, which gained recognition in the underground scene of São
Paulo. He made his mark on programs like Yo MTV Raps and Radiola Tv Culture, a show curated
by Elis Regina's son. In the early 2000s, he transitioned into reggae music with the band Usina
Reggae and gained fame with the hit "A Mulher e o Lago," a Brazilian reggae classic.
In 2002, he was invited to record an album with the band Orbitais on the Arsenal/Sony Music
label, produced by the renowned producer Rick Bonadio. This marked the beginning of his
nationwide tour, performing with renowned bands like Natiruts and appearing on TV shows like
"Bem Brasil," a historical program featuring all the big names in Brazilian music, from Hermeto
Pascoal to Caetano Veloso.
In 2006, he created the reggae rock band Bless Fya, which became the main opening act for
international stars like Alpha Blonde, Gladiators, and Groundation, among others. The band
received awards for Best Band of the Year and Best New Band.
In 2008, he was invited to be the MC for one of the most famous Brazilian reggae bands,
Maskavo. A new version of Julgados Culpados in Sound System was created, and they toured
from the north to the south of Brazil, performing over 250 shows in two years.
In 2012, he launched the Mocadão project, releasing an album with international partnerships
from Lion International (USA) and Blend Mishkin (Greece), and performed at major festivals like
Virada Cultural in São Paulo and raves in the southeast and south of the country.
In 2014, he initiated a project called MPReggae, which revisited classic Brazilian music in reggae
versions, touring all over Brazil and performing at important festivals such as Universo Paralello.
In 2016, he joined the group Ciganos em Fuga, starting with a tour at Sesc São Paulo and then
embarking on a three-month Eurotour in ten countries.
In 2017, he returned to Europe with Ciganos em Fuga, touring for another three months, and in
2019, he moved to Switzerland. He engaged in solo exhibitions and projects such as "Left and
Right" and "Dom Lampa Trio."
Dom Lampa now presents his new project:
"Lampa Sexta Feira" accompanied by musicians Marco Lastella (Bass) and Daniel Bagutti
(Drums).
