Biography
LineCross - The Beginning
Groupies are supposed to follow the band around - right? Not always
It all started back in Sydney, Australia, when a young Suissesse attended a rock concert featuring upcoming local heros, Dastedly. The Suissesse not only loved the band, but was sufficiently love-struck by singer/songwriter/guitarist Sean Lees that they spent the next 6 years in Australia together, traveling and performing as Dastedly did the hard yards in the infamous Aussie pub-rock scene
Eventually she longed to return home, and, as the love-feeling was mutual, Sean followed her back to Switzerland, leaving his band behind.
Sean was working as an English teacher in Lausanne, unable to stop writing songs, when he discovered that one of his English students, Jo Santagati, was a rock aficionado and guitar virtuoso who had studied guitar in the U.S.A. and featured in countless Swiss bands. Jo suggested they have a jam together with his boyhood partner in crime, a jazz-inspired multi-instrumentalist and drummer, Jean-Pierre Hess.
The three started playing together near Vevey in October 2008, playing cover versions of the music they loved and discovering that their tastes and musical universes converged in a happily uncanny manner. As Joseph and Jean-Pierre became aware of Sean's song-writing prowess, they realised that this music needed to be played, and the Swiss were going to love it!
They needed more power and flexibility, so in July U.S.-trained metal-god and music teacher Gregoire Natterer was brought in on bass and BAM!! LineCross was born. The chemistry was immediate and electric, and within a month they were mounting the stage in Bouveret for their debut gig. The performance was unpolished, energetic, and highly acclaimed.
Playing new, original music to an unsuspecting public is never easy - except when it's this good. With such an auspicious start, LineCross is primed to bring their live show to as many people as they can in 2010.
