With their latest single, Los Armadillos focus on the essentials, both musically and in terms of personnel. As a trio, they celebrate the band's original roots in raw, unadorned garage rock.
The recordings are inspired by the party-ready groove of The Fleshtones of the 80s and the uncompromising drive of the origins of 60s garage rock – in the style of The Kinks, for example. Without getting lost in effects escapades or nostalgic retro mania, Los Armadillos aim for the essence of a good song – and leave the rest behind.
The result is a reduced, direct sound: edgy but catchy, with a lot of enthusiasm and curiosity for surprising ideas.
