Los Guarenes is a chilean-colombian group. The band’s repertoire is inspired by folk music from the Andes, Peru, Bolivia, Chile and Southern Colombia. It explores musical currents such as huayno, cumbia, cueca, sonsuñero, carnaval. It was formed in February 2018 by Daniel Gomez (charango, guitare and tiple), Rafael Fillol (quena, zampoña, charango and guitare), Sebastian Suarez (tiple and electric bass), Hipólito Salazar (lead voice, quena and percussion), Martina Buchelli (violin and charango) and Benjamin Valdivieso (percussion). The band’s songs range from traditional sounds to more experimental formats, all while introducing a variety of instruments which enrich the performances. Los Guarenes warm up the Geneva scene, giving life to the streets and to the several festivals and concert halls of the french-speaking Switzerland.
