As a Swiss, London based artist, Lou Zerker’s music personifies the essence that makes us human. The blend of old Pop Punk, cosy bedroom pop and nostalgic indie pop influences allow Lou Zerker to encapsulate the peaks and declines of human experiences. His intentions to show acceptance towards fighting inner demons and enjoying life to the fullest creates a safe space and hits home on another level.
If one must compare his style with other names, you can expect a colourful pallet of Post Malone and Ryan Ross trying to form Blink 182 in the current era. The catchy choruses with a perfect balance of simplicity and rhythmicality evokes the nostalgic sing along feeling – a fresh take of the 90s. Combining the down to earth atmosphere of acoustic guitar and the sonically contrasted use of modern sounding synths underlines the awareness of the narrative. Nevertheless, Lou Zerker’s controversial process of writing melodies first reflects the precise use of lyrics throughout the songs. This coming from being trained as a tuba player by the age of 12 and participating in several bands as a bass player in his early 20’s. After a few years of touring around Switzerland with the Jazz influenced Indie Rockband called Ms.Iles, he turned his back to the music scene and tried to find himself and where he belongs in this world.
After 5 years of new experiences and life lessons, Lou Zerker is back and ready to leave mark in the music industry.
