Manu de Carvalho is a composer, musician (piano, guitars, percussion) and singer.
A deeply improvisational artist, he explores with voice, keyboards and rhythm a personal musical universe where life experience intertwines with influences ranging from jazz and rock to Brazilian music, Latin sounds and electronic textures.
Inspired by artists such as Atahualpa Yupanqui, Keith Jarrett, Djavan, Sting, Chopin, Rubén Blades, Manu Chao, Prince and Francis Cabrel, he cultivates a musical freedom that moves naturally across genres and cultures.
He has performs live in Norway, France, Switzerland, Germany, the Netherlands, as well as in Senegal, Egypt, New York, Rio de Janeiro and Reykjavík.
