Mira Meier was born 1981 and now lives near Zurich in Switzerland. Although she did not grow up in a musical family, she discovered her love for the piano at an early age. At the age of two, she received a small keyboard instrument from her grandparents, which sparked her curiosity for music. Not long after, she was given her first acoustic piano.
From the second grade onward, she received classical piano lessons for thirteen years. However, even as a child she began to improvise freely and develop her own pieces — a creative approach to music that continues to shape the way she works today.
Inspired by neoclassical piano music and minimalism, Mira Meier developed a calm and reduced style characterized by clear melodies, subtle dynamics, and an atmospheric sound language. Her music moves between classical tradition and a modern sonic aesthetic, inviting listeners to pause and listen.
In recent years, she has begun releasing her compositions as studio recordings on international streaming platforms. The piano remains at the center of her work — sometimes complemented by other instruments — always guided by the desire to create timeless music that evokes emotion and leaves space for personal reflection.
