Mitospora (or vegetative spore) is a reproductive spore produced by mitosis and capable of directly giving rise to a new individual as often as environmental conditions are favorable.
Mitospora is the club/techno alias of Roberto Maqueda, an experimental electronic music project that merges live Techno, Audio Design, and contemporary performance techniques. Mitospora explores the intersection between electronic music and instrumental approaches rooted in academic and experimental traditions.
The project also investigates cultural perceptions of different artistic formats and how they are consumed, juxtaposing experimental and classical music with electronic genres like Techno and EDM.
With a strictly Live approach, every sound and pattern is performed in real time. Mitospora brings instrumental playing techniques into the club, blending structured compositions with improvised sections to create a fluid connection between composition and the dancefloor experience.
Mitospora’s debut album, Take_0, was produced and composed by Roberto Maqueda and Jules Hildebrand. The album is a fusion of deep textures, rhythmic complexity, and intricate synthesizer patterns, marking a significant milestone in Mitospora’s artistic evolution.
