Biography
Modern Sports are a Swiss post-rock band from Basel formed in the year 2014.
The trio musically combines various contrasting elements and influences, ranging from diverse styles like experimental-rock, psychedelia or electronica to krautrock & minimal-music.
The resulting musical texture is a gnarled, but likewise ethereal sound synthesis referring to the works of bands like The Velvet Underground, Can, Animal Collective or Radiohead.
Arose from a former band project called FUCKUP (First Universal Cybernetic-Kinetic Ultra-Micro Programmer), the musical collective currently consist of Daniel Balzarini (Vocals, Guitars, Keys, Live-Electronica), Adrian Meier (Bass, KAOSS-Pads & Live-Electronica) and Rebecca Stocker (Drums).
The debut EP “Lower Levels” was released fall 2016.
