Mollusca stands for pop rock that hits straight ahead – powerful, modern, and packed with hooks that stay in your head long after the song ends. The rising band from Baden, Switzerland, combines the energy of the great rock acts of the 2000s with a raw, contemporary edge that cuts deep. This mix explodes live. With a rhythm section that grooves tightly, roaring guitars, and punchy synths, the five-piece creates an intensity that pulls in the crowd from the very first note.
At the heart of it all is Rahel Müller, lead singer and songwriter, whose distinctive voice and emotional presence define the band’s sound. Together with her bandmates, she channels pure passion, contradictions, and the joy of making music without compromise. One thing is certain: Mollusca are not short on confidence.
The story began in 2021 with their debut EP “Tides”. After several lineup changes, the core of the group moved away from their early, restrained indie pop toward a bold, hook-driven pop-rock sound. In summer 2023, Mollusca played the main stage at Badenfahrt on Saturday night and soon after won the bandXnordwest contest. This was followed by the single “Just Friends”, which marked the start of a new era. From then on, they appeared at several festivals, including the main stage of Sichtfeld OpenAir and Musig i de Altstadt Aarau.
Their debut album SEDATE ME! (2025), produced by Andri Urfer, captures the full range of Mollusca’s sound: explosive, emotional, and unapologetically alive. With the single GIRLS! already winning over a loyal fanbase both online and in the Swiss scene, Mollusca are proving themselves as one of the most exciting new rock bands in the country.
