Moonsoul is the new neo-soul project created in 2024 by Karin Sever on vocals, Dominique Favre on keyboards, Marco Giovannetti on bass, and Guillaume Louis on drums, following their fruitful musical collaboration over the past few years on the Swiss music scene.
This group of jazz and soul musicians offers a blend of original compositions and covers inspired by their diverse musical backgrounds. The collaboration between Dominique Favre and Marco Giovannetti (on electric bass) dates back to 1996 and has given rise to several jazz-groove projects, notably the group "Mo'Bop," Moonsoul's predecessor, which has released several albums, one of which won first prize at the 2003 M4Music/Diesel U Music Award in the Urban category.
Guillaume Louis on drums joined the group after several albums and tours in Europe, notably with the project "The Animen," as well as collaborations on film scores (Nicolas Rabaeus) and with theater (Rêveries Acoustiques).
Singer Karin Sever currently leads several personal "indigo soul" projects (The NMRK Project and Songamoon) and collaborates with various jazz, soul, and rock groups (Big Up Band, JAM à la Parenthèse, Motown Project, Mama Kadoxa, Moonglow).
The Moonglow project offers a spectral universe through intimate and groovy compositions that bring together the group's diverse influences, such as Erykah Badu, George Duke, Roy Hargrove, and Jamiroquai. A new soul vibe not to be missed!
