Biography

Between kitsch and glitch - Mutual Friend has set itself the task of dispelling prejudices against pop music and bringing its exciting aspects to musically somewhat uptight Switzerland. Always inspired by the latest music trends on the internet and driven by the opportunities that social media offers independent music producers today, the St. Gallen musician creates both familiar and experimental sounds, always with the aim of giving contemporary pop music a fresh twist. With exciting sounds and unexpected twists in his songs, he creates musical stories that quickly cast a spell and have more plot twists than many an M. Night Shyamalan movie. But regardless of whether they are big cinematic productions or minimalist acoustic, the songs always share one thing - a certain DIY character that could have come from a garage in the mid-70s. Ultimately, Mutual Friend remains a solo project, whether songwriting, recording or production. The multi-instrumentalist also shows the different facets of his musical talent in his live shows, when he creates the backdrops for his stories using various musical tools. The lyrics tell stories of romance in the decay of the world, of comfort in the broken, of escape in stagings.

The singles ALTRUIST and EMOTIONALLY PARANOID give a first taste of the first upcoming longer release, which is scheduled for this spring.
