Deep beneath the city of St. Gallen (CH), in an icy bunker without reception and cut off from the outside world, the creative symbiosis of My Sweet Undivine is born. United by a lifelong friendship, the trio shapes its progressive electro-rock sound in an oasis of artificial plants and colorful lights, warmed by the hum of oscillating space heaters.
The band’s music draws its strength from a fusion of cultures. By weaving traditional Kurdish motifs into their compositions and combining Middle and Far Eastern sounds with Western elements, they create a distinctive depth and richness. Heavy guitar riffs, emotional solos, and thoughtfully crafted lyrics about the everyday struggles of human existence come together to form a powerful sonic whole. Their songs are performed in both English and Kurdish, adding another layer of identity and authenticity. Striking melodies and dance-inducing beats complete their artistic creation.
One special feature of the band is the constant rotation of instruments and the fact that each member takes turns on vocals — a conscious break from rigid role divisions.
Media response reflects this uniqueness. AW Radio describes My Sweet Undivine as “a progressive electro rock trio that draws its energy from a fusion of various cultures, giving their sound a unique complexity” and praises the band’s “diversity and contemporaneous quality” (Chris Redjam, AW Radio). The Swiss newspaper Tagblatt calls their ethnically influenced style as “highly intriguing,” offering surprising moments that “invite, even demand, attentive listening” (Christof Lampart, Tagblatt).
The declared goal of My Sweet Undivine is to rise from the depths and make their voices heard — ready to breathe in the sweet air of live concerts and conquer the stages.
