Nikolas Katrantzis is a 23-year-old Greek-Swiss pianist and double bassist based between Lausanne and Basel, where he studies piano at the JazzCampus.
A versatile artist, he is very active on the Swiss jazz scene, where he performs regularly as a sought-after sideman and leader of his personal project NK36. Since his teenage years, he has played numerous concerts in Switzerland, developing a personal and sensitive style.
NK36 (a homophone of N.Katrantzis in French) embodies his artistic universe, bringing together music, poetry and visual art. Describing his music as ‘organic groove’, a term which in Greek refers as much to the instrumental as to the living, Nikolas transcends traditional norms to offer music that pulsates, breathes and touches on the very essence of authenticity.
