The shared passion for the new wave of British heavy metal formed the band Obsidian Black out of five Swiss musicians. Since 2015, the quintet has been skilfully blending their musical influences from the early eighties with their own ideas to create an exciting mixture of melodic heavy metal.
Just as harmonious as the cohesion of the five friends is their interplay. Bass and drums are omnipresent and are the rhythmically pumping heart of the music. The lustily arranged guitars are not stingy with sharp riffs and melodic parts. They form the backbone of the songs and flank the expressive voice. A wild animal with sharp claws and bite. Oldschool and timeless in equal measure.
The rockers find inspiration for their songs through a critical view of society and world events. They process their impressions in their emotional world, consisting of opposites like love and hate, good and evil, reality and fantasy, into stirring metal tracks, intensely spiced with emotions like anger and disappointment.
With their third EP «Judgement Day», released on 25 February 2022, Obsidian Black consolidate their reputation as an ambitious and versatile heavy metal band. Massive proof that classic heavy metal is always a force to be reckoned with.
