Biography

PAPAYA TROPICAL, it' s the unlikely encounter of the two creative forces, Jehisson Santacruz (maestro gaitero, colombian, defender of indigenous communities) and El Speaker (french, dutch, colombian composer and known producer of electronic music, played by Jillionaire (Major Lazer), Dillon Francis, Skan...), giving birth to this new reference of FUTURE INDIGENOUS music, where an urban world meets indigenous and ritual Colombian music, symbolized by its most emblematic and traditional instrument : «La Gaita».

Together they create a unique musical tendency, like a fusion of the Gaiteros de San Jacinto and DJ Snake.

Just like their duality, their show alternates between ritual, contemplative, mantric rythms of electronic merengues and fandangos all the way up to 160 BPM.

Their first album is set for September 2023. Their first single “Shivaldamán” is already available on all platforms since September 2022. In the meantime the duo plays their album in an one and a half hour live show.
