Pedro Filipe is a Swiss-born artist with Brazilian roots. In his early 20s he traded a fixed address for a backpack, two years through South America, and never really lost the taste for moving.
Already in bands as a kid, he burned his own tracks onto CDs at 13 and gave them to his crushes. Today not much has changed.
His sound is shaped by Zurich’s club and house nightlife but leaves room for his Latin heritage and a soft spot for lo-fi and ambient. Sometimes for dancing, sometimes for feeling, often both.
His debut album, out in October, is where it all lands: melodic, groovy, with a lot of acoustic underneath, Latin rhythm, the triangle always somewhere in the mix, and space for the quieter stuff too, close to nature.
