Biography
SamC - Samantha Solida - is a British and Swiss, Geneva-based musician who comes from a musical family. She grew up with rock, blues, country and classical influences, taking piano and dance lessons as of the age of 4. Singing was always a part of her life. As a matter of fact, she would harmonize to American folk music with her father and his friends every summer.
Her first major appearance on stage was at the age of 9, at the La Roche Bluegrass Festival, at its inception. During her childhood, she would perform local musicals and dance shows, as well as in choirs.
After classical training at the Geneva Conservatory, she integrated an ethno band (directed by the jazz musician Philippe Dragonetti), and then went on to joining pop-rock, bluegrass and metal rock bands in the area, performing on stages in Geneva, Vaud and neighboring France, in private events, bars and festivals.
She composed several songs for other people, including a song called "Scusa", for a not-for-profit association called "Le Cube de Verre" that helps families with children on the autism spectrum., arranged by Claude Lauder, from Taurus Studio, and an album co-produced with the Swiss musician and producer Moudja Cugno, who goes by the name Moudja Musica. She brought out a self-titled album with her blues-rock band The Wandering Travelers in the end of 2021.
She has always had a particular fondness for the electro genre, and has wanted to produce music in that style for quite a while, especially given her love of dance.
In the summer of 2023, while exiting a festival in Vaud, she met LyOsun. She started working with him, based on some demo work. Together, they rewrote and composed an enticing tune, full of energy, called Headspace, that delves into the themes of mental health, the uniting and healing nature of music. It is the first of many songs that will come from this dynamic duo.
