Born and raised in Lugano, Switzerland, his origins trace back to Sicily, through central Switzerland, and finally to Siberia. This explains his continuous search for his musical roots, which have led him to perform with his projects all over the world: from Madagascar to Moldova, from New Zealand to Peru, from Japan to the United States, and even to China. He has played with musicians from every corner of the planet, including Rhoda Scott, Peewee Ellis (James Brown's saxophonist), Paul McCandless, Rhani Krija (Sting's percussionist), Rupak Kulkarni, Giora Feidman, Bobby McFerrin, and many others. Sandro is the originator and creator of the "Suoni al Buio" project, which has already recorded over 270 concerts in 6 different countries. He has composed music for documentaries, produced over 20 CDs, and created the main jingle for Radio Svizzera Italiana Rete 1. In 2012, he was nominated for the Swiss Jazz Award with his group "Boogaloo 4tet". Since 2015, he has passionately pursued his team-building activity "Rock Your Team," bringing his musical art to companies throughout Switzerland.
