SIL stands for German-language indie pop built around catchy melodies, positive vibes and a strong indie edge.
Originally from Valais and now based in Zurich, SIL’s musical roots lie in production. He started out as a producer, initially working mainly in rap and heavily influenced by sampling. In 2018, he released his first own song in English under the name Mindboy. Bout You went on to become a streaming success and has now surpassed 2 million streams on Spotify. Several singles and two EPs followed, as he continued to develop his sound between R&B, melancholic sadboy vibes and modern pop influences.
In 2026, he decided to open a new chapter: as SIL, he left behind his English-language R&B sound and shifted his focus towards German-language indie pop. The result is a sound that feels more direct, lighter and driven by a new sense of positive energy.
With several releases throughout 2026, SIL is defining this new direction: catchy melodies, organic indie elements and a sound somewhere between modern pop and the Swiss indie scene. Production remains at the heart of his music — but now SIL tells his stories in German and from a fresh musical perspective.
