"SimonTRYtoCRY" has been the alias of singer and guitarist Simon Good—originally from Sargans and now based in Lucerne—since 2023. Acting within the post-punk genre, "simonTRYtoCRY" has played 14 shows over the past three years in cities including Lucerne, Zurich, Baden, Brugg, Chur, and Bad Ragaz—most recently on September 13 alongside "Tomorrows Ghost" and the K-goth band "Past-Self."
Rather than acting as the voice of a generation, the band serves primarily as a voice for himself; together with bassist Lars Gwendolin Good, singer and guitarist Simon Good crafts the "simonTRYtoCRY" sound—a sound somewhere between the final stages of genre-definitions and individualism, blending post-punk, goth-pop, blackgaze, and emo-rap.
"Exhaustion" is a track from 'I Hope This (Doesn’t) Hurt Part I', the debut EP by "simonTRYtoCRY" scheduled for release in November 2026. Described by the artist as a "pre-break-up song," "Exhaustion" deals with the destructive thoughts that intensify as a romantic relationship nears its end.
