SKRYLLS - where melancholy and mysticism meets dark rock!
SKRYLLS is a band from Bern, Switzerland, founded in Nov 2015 from singer and songwriter Orlando Skrylls. He creates his unique blend of dark rock metal and is supported by his fellows Ben (Age of Disclosure / ex Under my Skin), Mr. Troy (Distant Past /ex Emerald) and L.A. Drums (ex Pilar of Salt /Whiteout) who completes the band Skrylls.
In Dezember 2017, after 2 years of work, they released their first EP «cold/low». Produced by Syn Schütz, mastered by Sky Van Hoff (Berlin/Rammstein) and digital distributed by Kunz Soundcorp. The video for the song „cold/low“ was produced by ex Iloura video compositor Kaspar Zwirner.
The sound is an intense hybrid, it opens up with heavy, doomy rock riffs with vibes of gothic and pop hooks. Striking the perfect balance between Skrylls’ softer moments and their penchant for sinister heaviness, „cold/low“ features crafted melodies, ghostly tones and powerful dynamics. Accompanied by the clean dark voice and emotional lyrics written by Orlando.
Audibly influenced by bands such as Black Sabbath, Alice in Chains and Paradise Lost, Skrylls found their own true identity!
Orlando started his music career 20 years ago with his former band Draven. Draven had TV Interviews, several gigs (with HIM back in 1998) and they did an album mixed by Bruno Kramm from DAS ICH, Germany. In his later band, Diabolic Divine, he couldn’t find satisfaction so he decided to start his own project: Skrylls.
Orlando’s voice can also be heard in other projects, like in Age of Disclosure’s Album «To The Universe», where he is featured as lead vocalist on six songs.
