Sleepyhouse is a music project from Lucerne, led by singer, songwriter and multi-instrumentalist Remo Albisser. Together with producer and bassist Adi Rohner, pianist David Bokel and drummer Hannes Junker, he creates a soundscape that moves between introspective melancholy and moments where the music breaks out with intensity. Enriched by guest musicians on saxophone, guitar and vocals, the band unfolds a warm and multi-layered aesthetic across their albums.
From the very beginning, authenticity and artistic depth have been at the core: Sleepyhouse are not looking for quick effects but for timeless works. Their debut album was praised by critics for its poetic lyrics and intense, genuine expression – with comparisons to Tom Waits, Mark Eitzel and Bonnie ‘Prince’ Billy highlighting the emotional depth of their songs.
Musically, Sleepyhouse move in the realm of alternative, indie and singer-songwriter, influenced by folk, rock and blues. Analog warmth, organic arrangements and Remo Albisser’s distinctive vocals define the band’s unmistakable sound.
