Switzerland, Ireland, Germany, Greece and Ethiopia crash in SMG and are synthesized into a unique style of rock. Literally everyone says that their sound is hard to describe these days but in our case it’s truly a difficult thing. Imagine Irish folk music driven by Ethiopian groove with melodic deep bass lines and finally transformed into rock music.
Started as a trio in Autumn 2016 they began reinterpreting the self-composed songs of Sean McGurrin. Since then played recording and playing in Switzerland, Germany and Ireland.
Sean composed most of the songs, is the voice of the band and drives the listener with his guitar into ecstasy. As a native-born Irishman the feeling for songwriting is already in his blood. With his longtime stage experience in Ireland franc and Germany, this man relies literally on his feeling.
Mad grew up in the hard rock and pop scene and is influenced by that genre. He sings the second voice. However his main job is being the bass man and with his melodic and complex style he gives SMG the final and unique sound. As the oldest he is the constant critic in the band but he definitely rocks the most.
Simo is Ethiopian, Greek, German and Swiss in equal parts. Originally from the metal scene he mixes funk, Ethiopian jazz and hip hop to a new and own groove and knows how the get the audience dancing. As the youngest he is rampant one in the band but you can’t blame him.
