Soft Glow is a four-piece emo band from Zurich/Aarau, formed in 2025 out of the deep swamp of the Swiss hardcore scene. The members Gilles (guitar & vocals), Dave (guitar), Swen (guitar) and Sevi (drums) had already played countless shows together in other bands such as Lifecrusher, solace., Barock Rain or Suffer, before coming together for this new musical project.
Their debut “hug me tight, I’m scared” tells stories of inner turmoil, love, and the struggle with oneself. The record features catchy vocal melodies paired with haunting shouts, walls of guitar riffs and driving drums — all evoking nostalgia, like summer rain hitting warm asphalt, but at times also the feeling of a lonely walk home in the shadow of streetlights. Fans of the early 2010s emo wave as well as the more recent nugaze movement will feel right at home here.
“hug me tight, I’m scared” was written during the spring and summer of 2025 and then self-recorded in the rehearsal room. Mixing and mastering were handled by David (1408 Productions) from Hanover to give the record its final polish.
Soft Glow’s debut is the soothing, warm embrace of a friend on a really shitty day.
