Biographie

Drummer with Tigran Hamasyan (Nonesuch/ECM) or in the Erik Truffaz Quartet (Warner Parlophone), Arthur Hnatek is an upcoming international renowned jazz musician.

With his new project SWIMS, the 28 year old swiss drummer explores the frontier between improvisation and electronica/dance music. His first EP “ELLE” came out in 2017 through the New York (his home for 5 years) independent community Susan Records. Recently, he works from Berlin where the techno culture has influenced his approach.

Only existing since 2017, Arthur has performed SWIMS at La Cigale in Paris opening up for Christian Scott, at the Montreux Jazz Festival, Label Suisse Festival (Lausanne), Kantine am Berghain (Berlin), Bscene Festival (Basel), the Cully Jazz Festival or during a residency at Südpol in Luzern.
