Die Symphonie zum 1. Mai ist wie ein Schmied, der das Metall des Proletariats im Feuer des Widerstands härtet. Am Anfang klingt die Musik wie das leise Hämmern eines Schmiedes auf dem Amboss, der das Eisen langsam formt.
