HOW WAS YOUR MONDAY - I don't like Mondays. For the past few years, I've had an unfortunate schedule set up in such a way that this is when I have the most classes and generally the most to do. These are the days right after the weekend when you have to get back into “work” mode and the realities of life. Fortunately, due to the fact that there is a lot going on Monday passes fairly quickly. The recurring theme of the saxophone is an expression of fatigue, monotony and helplessness in the face of the day. The piece shows how one can survive it and find time to smile despite everything.
