His Master’s Track
As PLEKTRON, a musician and producer from Bern, I would like to tell you about a remarkable event that changed my career and that of my faithful companion Patrick (with middle name Nipper🐶) forever.

It was on a spring day in 2024 when I was working on my latest track in my studio. Patrick, my yellow Labrador Retriever, was by my side as always. Suddenly I realised that he had somehow put on my headphones and was sitting intently behind my legendary Technics SL-1200MK7 turntable. He seemed completely focused on the beat of my latest track, which I later named EINEN HUND in his honour.

This moment - like the song title - was so surreal and mesmerising that I immediately snapped a photo. Patrick, with headphones on, listening intently behind the iconic turntable - it was an image that perfectly captured the essence of modern music production.

Inspired by this moment and somewhat saddened by the lack of recognition in the local music scene, I decided to make one last attempt to gain the attention of a well-known music journalist in the city. I met him in his office, hoping to finally get the long-awaited recognition in a newspaper report. Patrick, still focussed on the beat, came along of course.

Unfortunately, the meeting did not go as I had hoped. The journalist once again declined to discuss my music in an article. It was at this moment of disappointment that it happened: Patrick, perhaps sensing my frustration, pinched the pressman’s calf. It was a brief but memorable moment that noticeably raised the energy in the room. Almost like in the aforementioned track, where the energy is also noticeably increased at certain points.

Although the visit to the journalist did not bring the desired success, the photo of Patrick at the turntable had caused quite a stir on social media. Music fans were fascinated by the idea of a four-legged music critic and the picture spread rapidly.

Today, almost a year later, the tide has turned. My track EINEN HUND is increasingly recognised, and the accompanying artwork cover with Patrick has become a symbol of passion and intuition in underground music production. Who knows, maybe one day it will become as iconic as ‘His Master's Voice’ and grace the playlists of music lovers worldwide.

And the journalist ? Well, let's put it this way, he hasn't forgotten Patrick - and perhaps he's now rethinking his playlist selection a little more carefully ;-)
