Nothing Really Matters – journey to a raw and personal place
Strong, emotional images that suggest certain desperation, a certain letting go. The greyness of emotion that comes with necessary change and moving out of a bad situation. This is what comes through in the moving, yet disturbing, engrossing, yet unsettling video to Ajay Mathur’s haunting ‘Nothing Really Matters’, which was released with his latest album ‘9 to 3’.
This is not your ordinary music video. This is a compelling work of art that combines a series of images that could work well on their own, but together they create ‘a near-menacing atmosphere’, become visceral and indelible. They form the backdrop to a song that ‘sizzles with power and passion’ and has been described as ‘deep, genuine and extremely powerful’, as ‘emotionally and instrumentally intense’. This song and its video take the listener to a raw and personal place.
‚Nothing Really Matters’ was composed arranged and produced by Ajay Mathur. The video is the outcome of his collaboration with the photo artist Raffaella Bachmann.
